One of the notable projects was the design of a ventilation system to control particulate and volatile organic emissions from our operations. The system used a dust collector for particulate control and a thermal oxidizer for VOC control. When thermal oxidizer operating costs became very high due to increasing natural gas prices and a decrease in emissions from our operations, they assisted us in replacing it with a bio-filter unit with a carbon adsorption system as a backup. The payback time for the bio-filter unit was less than 2 years.
